The Machu Picchu, Peru tour extension keeps a service uniformity of excellence throughout both South American countries of Ecuador and Peru. Your Machu Picchu tour extension begins with an intra-South America flight to the capital city if Lima, Peru, known as the city of kings. Upon arrival in Peru, a staff member will be waiting for you outside of customs and immigration, to take you to your Lima hotel. The next morning enjoy a hearty breakfast and private transfer to the Lima airport for your 1 hour flight to Cuzco, Peru. Upon arrival in Cuzco, you will be met by a representative to take you to the classic Libertador Hotel Cuzco, the former palace of Francisco Pissarro.
The Libertador Hotel Cuzco is a magical property, where you will be greeted with a cup of the coca tea to assist in acclimating to the high altitude (over 12,000 feet). After getting settled in your room, enjoy a private guided Cuzco tour, including the local Incan ruins. The following morning, your private guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you to the Cuzco train station, for your alpine rail adventure onboard the Vistadome or Hiram Bingham train, operated by Orient Express, headed for Aguas Calientes (below Machu Picchu).
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your guide will take you to the modern Sumaq Hotel to drop off your bags and check-in. Continue on a short transfer up the hill to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided Machu Picchu tour of the famous ruins and citadel. Lunch is included and will be served at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. After the Machu Picchu tour, overnight at the modern Sumaq Hotel Aguas Calientes.
Dinner is included tonight at the Sumaq Hotel. The following day is at leisure to explore the ruins on your own and at your own pace. In the afternoon, board the Vistadome or Hiram Bingham train back to Cuzco for an overnight at the Libertador Hotel Cuzco. The following morning, your guide will meet you in the lobby of the Libertador Hotel and transfer you to the Cuzco airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in lima, transfer to an airport hotel to await your international flight to your next destination.

Air transportation is not included in the above price. However, this program includes transfers, a two night stay in Lima, two nights in Cuzco, one night in the Machu Picchu area, guided tours in Machu Picchu and Cuzco, breakfast, round-trip train tickets, breakfast at the hotels, as well as lunch and dinner in Machu Picchu
